CUDAHY – Wisconsin Election Watch obtained exclusive video showing that Milwaukee County Circuit Court candidate Laura Gramling Perez admitting to signing a recall petition against Governor Scott Walker.
Perez made those remarks during the Milwaukee County Republican South Branch caucus held on Monday evening at Joe K’s Ranch in Cudahy. After being questioned about our first report on whether Perez signed the recall with a non-existent address, she denied it. However, the candidate for Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge admitted to signing the Walker recall and went into detail. “I can tell you I did sign the recall petition,” said Perez. However, Perez told the audience that her name with her current voting address does not show up in public records because her petition did not get turned in on time to the Government Accountability Board.
The candidate further explained why she signed the petition against Governor Walker. “I don’t think that (Walker) did what he campaigned on. I had dear friends who are long time Republicans who signed the petition and I had dear friends who are long-time Democrats who signed the petition.” Before concluding her remarks, Perez stressed that she has never been a member of a political party and considers herself an independent.
