Jessie Rodriguez

Jessie Rod-2Yesenia “Jessie” Rodriguez is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.  She won a special election in November of 2013.

Early Life and Education

Rodriguez was born in El Salvador, moved to the United States in 1986 as the Central American nation was engulfed by a civil war.  She is a graduate of  Milwaukee Hamilton High School along with a 2002 graduate of Marquette University with a double-major in Spanish and Communications Studies.

Professional Career

Rodriguez first started her professional career working for Roundy’s Supermarkets as a Category Analyst.   In 2011, she joined Hispanics for School Choice as a Outreach Coordinator.

2013 Special Election

On September 7, 2013, Rodriguez launched her candidacy for the State Assembly via Facebook.  She officially registered with the Government Accountability Board on September 9, 2013.
